PRINTING OPTION
1. Screen Printing
One of the options that you can try for flag printing is through screen printing. This method makes use of patterns placed on a silk screen before etting the paints through to have the patterns applied. |
The advantage of this method is in mass-production as it makes it eady to manufacture custom flags in large quantities. It also sports a sharp finish and vibrant colours on flags. |
Another thing of note for its propoerties is that screen printing enables the flag colour to match closely with the pantone colour system. However, it will not achieve photographic colour. |
It is perfect for mass-production and fulfillig bulk orders for pricing. But it is not the ideal means for printing in smaller amounts as it requires prep time to have certain pigments and other materials ready. Another downside to it is about the use of colours. The more colours used, the more expensive it is. |
2. Digital Printing
Digital Printing is another option for making custom flags. Using state-of-the-art flag printers, it allows for swifter printing of custom flag designs. With digital printing, you can make use of complex designs with lesser effort. It perfect for smaller printing jobs. |
Usually this method goes with singled-sided digital printing or double-sided digital printing: |
Single-sided printing covers one side with the design, leaving the colour to bleed towards the backs. The tendency for the colours to bleed towards the back is depends on the thickness of the material fabrics you choose. The thicker it is, the less appearance of the design will be. Another thing to note is back side of single sided printing is usually reverse of the front design. |
On the other hand, Double-sided digital printing is a method that which we print 2 pieces of the flag and joining back to back. This allows the flag design to be seen on both sides of the flag without leaving any dull areas. There are a variety of configurations that you can opt for when having double sided print. You may have the same design on both front and back side, which perfect for ensuring the streamlined uniformity. You may also use a different image on the back side to add some variety and earn a second look at your flag. The downside for this method would be in the added expenses. |
3. Applique
This flag printing method is a process that does not exactly involve too much printing. Instead, it makes use of hand sewing. The process is meticulous, but it allows for a beautiful, printed logo sewed onto the flag. It can go for a single side, single side reverse or double-sided. |
Notable to its intricate nature and design, the product of this method works well for indoors and outdoors. The price depends on the design complexity and the size of the flag. A notable downside is that it takes time to create, as it requires lots of hand-on work. In addition, not all the flag can do applique as there is some limitation on this method due to the complexity of the design and other factors. |
